It shows lavender fields in front of Corfe Lodge. Corfe Lodge has since been renamed Lavender Lodge and sits on the corner of Corfe Lodge Road and the more recent cul-de-sac Lavender Way. There is an article on the Lavender farm by Olive Knott in the Dorset Year Book 1956-57 pages 60-62 where a alternative view of the workers is reproduced with Corfe Lodge in the background.

Corfe Lodge was once part of the Canford Estate. There is an article on the Lavender farm by Olive Knott in the Dorset Year Book 1956-57 page 60-62 where the same view is reproduced.
