News from Spain, 1739

Transcription of extract from Salisbury Journal 4th September 1739 reads: "Pool. "The Three Friends" John Barret is arrived at Lisbon from San Sebastien. The Captain reports that he met with 5 sail men of war cruising off Cape Finister under the command of Sir Chalaner Ogle, who had taken a vessel of about 200 tons with Genoese colours, laden with ammunition etc for the Spanish in Galicia."
