Extract from Salisbury Journal 24th February 1752 describing how the "Nancy", Master- Courtin, made her voyage to South Carolina and back in three months and twenty days. "The quickest voyage ever known from this town." Cargo included 760 barrels of rice.

They were taken by French Privateers who left one Englishman on board. This man, when his captors were sleeping, managed to bring the vessel and the four Frenchmen on board to Dover pier.
